12-pin Hirose connector. Special model to reach connector in Mac Pro A1481 (Late 2013)

To place this EasyFlash adapter you will have to take off the round outer case as well as the bottom cover of the Mac Pro. The side with the black connector will plug in the Mac. The side with the white connector and the LEDs sticks out from the side of the Mac. SPI connector Hirose-12

To read and write the ROM on modern iMacs you can solder the SPI connector in place. Apple does not mount the SPI connector in 99% of the cases but if you mount it yourself it works just fine. If the iMac has a SOIC ROM chip then you are probably quicker off using a Medusa- with a Pomona clip. If the iMac has a WSON ROM chip then you can mount this SPI connector and then use the Medusa with an EasyFlash adapter (A4140 or 4160).

Although this connector has 16 pins it is actually the 12 pin version. This is because the four corner pins are only for mechanical stability and do not match up with any contacts on the connector it mates with.
